Special in-game mount in aid of Save the Children Deutschland e.V. introduced

Frogster is running a fund-raising promotion in collaboration with the children’s rights organisation ‘Save the Children Deutschland e.V.’ and already app. 11,000 Euros have come in for children in adversity.

Save the Children

Going under the name of ‘Moa’s Charity Steed for Save the Children’, the mount is now available in the Item Shop at the preferential price of 199 Diamonds – instead of 299 Diamonds for other mounts. For every ‘Moa’s Charity Steed’ sold, the Berlin publisher is donating three Euros to the worldwide children’s rights organisation. Since the launch of the promotion last weekend, there have already been more than 3,600 steeds sold, contributing app. 11,000 Euros in donations.

Every Runes of Magic player has up until 28 December 2009 to support children in adversity with the purchase of a ‘Moa’s Charity Steed’. ‘Save the Children’ uses the money worldwide wherever children need to be helped. The organisation fights for children’s rights for survival, health and education, but also against child labour and the use of children as soldiers in armed conflicts. Save the Children also helps children and their families in emergency and catastrophe situations.
To make buying a mount even more attractive, over the coming weekend there will also be a discount of up to 40% on the purchase of Diamonds.

There is further information about the fund-raising promotion on the official Runes of Magic home page www.runesofmagic.com/en/charity.html.

Fallen Earth announces new in-game item series available through Steam

FALLEN EARTH, LLC announced a new and exclusive in-game item series for its self-titled massively multiplayer online game (MMO) through digital distribution partner, Steam®, a digital delivery and management platform for the PC. The item series, available now on Steam, will include six special faction-related t-shirts for use in-game, providing new players with additional armor and strengths to get started in the apocalypse.

The special promotion begined November 25 at 3:00 p.m. EST and run through December 3. Customers who purchase Fallen Earth through Steam during this time will receive immediate access to the game and a t-shirt “voucher” for an exclusive faction-related t-shirt of their choice. Players will have the opportunity to trade in vouchers at a number of NPCs throughout the game for one of the six t-shirts, each of which displays one faction logo-CHOTA, Enforcers, Lightbearers, Techs, Travelers or Vistas. When worn, the t-shirt will provide the equivalent of a level 10 shirt armor piece, with specific t-shirt stats customized to each faction’s strengths.

Allowing players time to decide which faction they would like to represent, vouchers may be redeemed at any point during gameplay, and t-shirts may also be traded in at any time for a another should they choose.

“We have gained a lot of support through the Steam community and wanted to offer a new and exclusive in-game item,” said Jessica Orr, marketing manager for Fallen Earth. “The new series is a fun way to allow players to identify themselves as a member of a specific faction.”

Fallen Earth takes place in the post-apocalyptic Grand Canyon where the Shiva Virus has wiped out most of the earth’s population. The game gives players the choice to rebuild the decaying world or participate in its destruction through use of the classless advancement system, real-time crafting and the seamless integration of first-person shooter and role-playing game mechanics.
